Millerbees Sugar Shake Screen for making varroa mite count without killing any bees.  Fits inside a regular 70mm mason jar ring, and on pint size jar.  To use add 1/2 cup of water to jar.  Mark a line around jar at water level.  This 1/2 cup line will be approximately 300 bees.  Dump water out and dry the jar.  Add bees from a frame of brood to the jar, put sugar shake screen in jar ring and screw on the jar.  Add about 2 tbs of powered sugar to the jar through the screen.  shake the jar of bees and powdered sugar vigorously side to side for about a minute, set down for about a minute.  Shake again for 10 to 20 seconds.  Shake shake the sugar and mites out on a white or light colored surface, like the metal top of a hive.  Spray water on the powdered sugar.  The sugar will melt and the mites will be very visible.  Now count the mites.  Bees may be poured back into the hive or in front of the hive.  The Sugar Shake Screen is made from 1/16" white plastic.  FREE SHIPPING Made in USA
