This scale is a hand held portable scale specifically for weighing bee hives easily and quickly.  The Hive Weigh is less than 6 inches long and 1 1/4 inches wide.  It will fit in your pocket.  The Hive Weigh has a 12 inch long strap and hook.  The Hive Weigh is small enough to fit in your pocket.  The hook will "hook" under the handle pocket on the end of standard wooden Langstroth style beehive boxes.  To use push the on button, place the hook under the handle pocket on the lowest super or box, pull directly up until lifted just off the hive stand.  The weight showing on the Hive Weigh readout will be approximately 1/2 of the total weight of the hive.  The Hive Weigh will shut off automatically in about 2 minutes.  The hive maybe weighed and any time after that, a day or a few days.  You will have accurate data to determine if the hive is gaining or losing weight.  This data is especially valuable during honey flows to see how quickly the bees are filling supers without opening the hives and disturbing your bees.  The capacity of the Hive Weigh is 110 pounds or 50 kilos.  Battery is included.
