The Beetle Jail Screened Bottom Board with Rear Trap, mates to a Langstroth beehives. It has smaller screen (#12) than most screened bottom boards. This is to prevent so small hive beetles from entering through the bottom, but varroa mites will drop through. There is a white board under the screen that will catch mites, when coated with vegetable oil or no stick cooking spray. This will allow you to take a mite count. The white board may be removed to allow maximum ventilation and may be used in winter to reduce ventilation as desired. There is also a rear trap, across the back to catch small hive beetles. The beetles always go to the back corners of the hive. The rear trap has #7 screen with baffles, the ten frame bottom boards have (2) 2" deep 7 1/2" long oil reservoir/s. Reservoirs pull out each side on the 10 frame. The 8 and 5 frame bottom boards and one oil reservoir, 2" deep 7 1/2" long that pull out the right side. The reservoirs are molded polypropylene. The reservoirs also have partitions, so hive leveling is not necessary. The wood is poplar, and is dipped in Wood Life Classic, which is a wood preservative that prevents mold, mildew and fungus. It is not an insecticide. Wood Life Classic is also a paint primer. Made to order in USA with some international components.
